About Tamriel Map
Tamriel Map is an independent fan site that helps players find their way around the continent of The Elder Scrolls, in eight languages.

What this site is for
Most people who search for a map of Tamriel want a quick answer to a simple question: where is Skyrim compared to Morrowind, which province is Elsweyr next to, or where does a game they are playing take place. Official game maps only show one region at a time, and fan maps are often scattered across forums and wikis. Tamriel Map puts the whole continent in one place and keeps it easy to read on any screen.
The site is built for new players who have just started their first Elder Scrolls game, for long-time fans who want to check a detail of lore, and for roleplayers, modders, writers and video creators who need a clear map to refer to.
What you will find here
Everything on the site is free to use and does not require an account.
- An interactive map of Tamriel with all nine provinces, more than 70 cities and landmarks, search, a filter that highlights the provinces of each game, and PNG or SVG downloads.
- A guide for each province with its capital, people, neighbours, geography, history and the games set there.
- A high-resolution painted map of the continent that you can zoom into or download as a wallpaper or print.
- The same content in English, Spanish, Japanese, French, German, Portuguese, Korean and Italian.
How the map is made
The painted artwork was created for this site with the help of AI image tools, working tile by tile so that the coastlines, mountain ranges, deserts, forests and swamps sit where players expect them. The artwork contains no text, so it can be labelled in any language.
The clickable layer on top is traced from that painting. Coastlines come from the water and land of the artwork itself, province borders follow the boundaries commonly drawn on in-game and community maps, and every city is placed by hand and checked automatically to make sure it falls inside the right province.
Tamriel's borders changed many times over its history, and the games themselves do not always agree with each other. The map shows the provinces roughly as they are drawn around the late Third and early Fourth Era. Distances are approximate, so treat the map as a guide to where things are rather than a surveyor's chart.
Where the lore comes from
The province guides are written in our own words. They draw on the games, the books that appear inside them, and official guides, and they are checked against respected community references such as the Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages and the Imperial Library. We do not copy text from other sites.
When sources disagree, we describe the version that most players will meet in the games and say so when a detail is uncertain.
Accuracy and corrections
We want every name, border and date on this site to be right. If you find a mistake in the map, a guide or a translation, please write to us at contact@tamrielmap.com with the page address and, if possible, a source. We read every message, fix confirmed errors as quickly as we can and update the date at the top of the page when we do.
Who runs the site
Tamriel Map is run independently by Elder Scrolls fans. It is not a company product and it is not connected to any game studio or publisher. The site is kept free by advertising, which helps pay for hosting and for the time it takes to keep the map and translations up to date.
